What's the difference between the Exercise Mat and the Yoga Mat?
Our Exercise Mats have a 1/4" (6mm) thick, high-density surface designed for shoes, weights, and high-impact workouts like P90X, Insanity, and HIIT. The top is textured for durability.

What size should I get?
It depends on your space and workout style:
• 6' x 4' — Apartments, small spaces, single-person workouts
• 7' x 4' or 7' x 5' — Most popular. Fits most living rooms and spare bedrooms

Is the mat thick enough for high-impact workouts?
Yes. Our Exercise Mats are 1/4" (6mm) thick: the sweet spot for impact absorption without sacrificing stability. They protect your joints on hardwood, tile, and concrete floors. Many customers use them for plyometrics, burpees, and jumping exercises daily.
Can I wear shoes on the mat?
Exercise Mats: Yes. They're designed for shoes. The high-density surface handles athletic shoes, cross-trainers, and even cleats without damage.
Yoga Mats: These are designed for barefoot use. Shoes may damage the softer grip surface.
How do I clean my Gorilla Mat?
Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap after workouts. For deeper cleaning, use a solution of water and white vinegar (50/50). Air dry flat or hanging. Do not machine wash or use harsh chemicals.
Does the mat have a smell?
Our mats are made from 16P-free certified PVC. Most customers notice a faint new-mat smell that clears within 1-2 days. Leave it unrolled in a ventilated room overnight if you're sensitive.
Will it slide on my floor?
No. Both sides are non-slip. The bottom features a unique circle-pattern grip that prevents sliding on hardwood, tile, laminate, vinyl, and low-pile carpet. On thick carpet, the mat may shift slightly during very intense movements.
How heavy is the mat? Can I store it easily?
Weights vary by size (our 6' x 4' Exercise Mat weighs about 8 lbs, the 15' x 6' weighs about 30 lbs). Every mat comes with velcro carrying straps: just roll it up tight and store it in a closet, under a bed, or against a wall. It unrolls flat every time.

Can I use this mat on carpet?
Yes. Our mats work on any surface: hardwood, tile, concrete, vinyl, and carpet. On low-pile carpet, the grip holds well. On thick or plush carpet, the mat provides a stable, flat surface but may shift slightly during very intense workouts.

Can I use a Gorilla Mat on carpet, tile, concrete, hardwood floors, etc?
Yes! Gorilla Mats can be used on almost any flat surface to provide comfortable padding, shock absorption, non-slip grip, and high density protection for your joints and floors.
On the bottom of every Gorilla Mat, there is a unique dot pattern that is designed to keep your mat from sliding around while you're using it. The weight of an extra large mat helps keep the mat in place too.
However, in some cases with intense workouts and thicker carpets, our mats may need a little more to lock them in place. We recommend and our customers have had success with Rug Anchors in this case.
Can I wear shoes on a Gorilla Mat?

Can I place two or more Gorilla Mats together?
Many customers purchase more than one Gorilla Mat to create an even larger area for their home gym or home studio.
Depending on your use and flooring, the weight of the Gorilla Mats and the unique dot pattern on the bottom of our mats is usually enough to keep the mats together.
However, you may want to secure the mats together another way. In this case, we recommend and our customers have had success with Meister Mat Tape.

4 - Cleaning & Care
How should I clean my Gorilla Mat?
For a quick clean after each workout or yoga session, we recommend using a Gorilla Mat 100% Microfiber Towel to wipe away any moisture.
When your mat gets to the point where it needs a deeper cleaning, we recommend the following:
- Mix a few drops of non-bleach dish soap in a small bowl of warm water.
- Use a cloth or soft brush to scrub the top surface with the mixture.
- Wipe clean and dry using a towel or hang dry in the sun.
- Make sure your mat is completely dry on both sides before rolling up!
Where should I store my Gorilla Mat?
Gorilla Mats can be rolled up and secured using the two velcro storage straps that are included with your mat. If you need it out of the way, you can roll it to the side of your room, lean it in a corner, or hide it away in a closet or under your bed.
Why is my Gorilla Mat slippery?
Gorilla Mats can be a little slippery when they are brand new. We call this the "break in" period and it will definitely get better with use! This is the nature of the ultra-durable top layer of the mat. Also, hopefully you take comfort in knowing that the sweat and moisture isn't absorbing into the mat.
You can speed up the break in period by cleaning the mat with a small amount of mild dish soap and warm water. Or lay it out in a high traffic area for a week or two.

What is your return and exchange policy?
Unless otherwise specified, new items in their original packaging, including carry bag and storage straps may be returned within 60 days of purchase for a full refund. If the return is the result of our error, such as shipping an incorrect item, we will provide return shipping at no cost.

Ship via USPS or UPS and please include your name, order number if available and a brief note detailing your request so we can take care of you.
Please clean your mat, roll up with the logo facing out (dots facing in), and secured with the two Velcro straps, before placing in the carry bag.
Gorilla Mats that are received dirty or damaged during shipping will incur additional fees.
Allow up to two weeks to receive refunds. This time period includes the return ship time, processing your return and initiating a refund.
