We believe fitness should not be limited to a gym or yoga studio. Working out at home takes less time, costs much less than a gym or studio membership, and can be more effective and enjoyable.

We started Yo Gorilla Mats (many of you still know us as Gorilla Mats) with a simple idea: a home workout needs a mat big enough to move on that doesn't slide across the floor.

Today we make two lines of large mats for home workouts: exercise mats you can wear shoes on, and 8mm yoga mats for bare feet, from 6′ × 4′ up to 15′ × 6′.

Our story.

We tried them all. Small, flimsy mats that bunched up during burpees, slid during planks, and fell apart after a few months of real use. So we designed our own.

We wanted a non-slip surface that was large enough for any workout or yoga session. A mat that was comfortable and soft, with the perfect balance of padding, support and shock absorption, without sacrificing stability. We wanted ultra durability that could last a lifetime of high intensity training, even with shoes on. But we also wanted performance grip for yoga, stretching, or bodyweight exercises.

The result was two premium designs: our Exercise Mats and our Yoga Mats. What started as a solution for our own home workouts has grown into a community of

250,000+ customers who have turned their living rooms, garages, basements, and spare bedrooms into home gyms and yoga studios.

What makes Yo Gorilla Mats different.

    Our smallest mat is 6 feet by 4 feet: about twice the size of a standard yoga mat. Our largest is 15 feet by 6 feet: up to 8x the size of a standard yoga mat. You will never run out of space mid-workout.

    Our Exercise Mats are 1/4″ (6mm) thick (the 7′ × 4′ is 8mm), come in 8 sizes and are built for shoes, weights and high-impact training. Our Yoga Mats are 8mm thick, come in 5 sizes and are designed for barefoot grip, comfort and balance. See the comparison
